Dance Revolution East Africa

Robert is the founder and chairperson of the initiative Dance Revolution East Africa (DREA), which is an association that organise contemporary nights and other events. Robert started the initiative upon his return to Uganda in 2015  when he had finished his first semester at Ecolé des Sables in Senegal. He found that he lacked a creative platform and an allowing arena to form collaborations with other dancers and producing his work from in Uganda, and so the idea was born.

DREA’s goal is threefold: (1) to develop collaborations between dancers within East Africa, (2) to initiate and nurture collaborations between East African and international dancers, and (3) to increase audience access to dance in East Africa by bridging the gap between underserved dancers and affluent audiences. With this in mind, DREA is creating a platform within East Africa where dancers can share and develop their skills, inspire each other and support emerging dancers.

Unlike other organizations in East Africa, DREA is focused primarily on traditional East African, Western contemporary forms and the mixing of the two. It is DREA’s firm belief that this unique combination has the potential to develop understanding between cultures for both dancers and audiences.

  1. Thanks for your article. One other thing is that often individual American states have their own personal laws in which affect home owners, which makes it very hard for the our elected representatives to come up with a fresh set of rules concerning foreclosure on home owners. The problem is that every state possesses own laws and regulations which may have interaction in an unfavorable manner with regards to foreclosure procedures.
